Heli Daruwala to play Manbai in COLORS’ Dastaan-E-Mohabbaat Salim Anarkali
COLORS’ latest historical fictionsaga Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali has struck a chord with its viewers with the greatest love story of Salim and Anarkali. The show will soon witness the entry of the young and ravishing actress Heli Daruwala. She’ll be seen essaying the character of Manbaia.k.aMannu , the daughter of Mansingh. Mansingh isJodha’s brother who will soon visit Agra for the occasion of Bhai-dooj, and will get his daughter Manbaialong with him. Manvai is Salim’s childhood friend and will be meeting him after 12 years.
Recently, the show captivated the viewers by showing both Salim and Anarkali in an altogether different avatar of Banjaras. The duo dressed as gypsies posed as husband and wife in a nearby village to hide their identities from the goons set loose by Salim’s first mother Ruqaiya. While being in disguise, Salim and Anarkali’s bond grew strong and this made Salim realise that he wants to marry Anarkali.
On her entry in the show Heli Daruwala commented, “ I was extremely delighted when this role came my way. I have been fascinated with Salim and Anarkali’slove story for the longest time and there were no second thoughts before signing the role. My Character Manbai is a warrior princess adept in swordfighting and even horse riding. I have been taking lessons for both, lately, to play my role persuasively. I will be seen in a typical rajwada get-up, I am pretty excited about it since I had never forayed into costume dramas before. It’s a matter of pride to be associated with a show that brings to life our culturally rich heritage in it’s own beautiful way. I am hoping the viewers and my fans will like me in this new space and wish they continue to shower the same affection towards the show.”
